Chameleon has built a technologically advanced, low cost manufacturing facility for imaging chemicals
located in China and with significant scope for further
expansion.
Chameleon Specialty Chemicals’ production plant is located in the Lianyungang Chemical Industry Park to
the south of Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province, China - one of the few chemical parks in eastern China with
central government approval. This location was specifically chosen because of the local availability of
skilled labour, supply of competitively priced energy, excellent transport links, good local availability of
raw materials and the encouraging and constructive attitude of the local authorities towards the chemical
industry.
The site occupies a 42,000 m² plot and was opened in December 2009 following a construction period
of just over a year. In 2011 the site achieved ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation and in 2013 we opened a
second production building for the manufacture of the sensitizer known as BON (Chameleon Sensitiser 1). The
site has been designed and constructed specifically for the efficient manufacture of imaging chemicals and
still has significant scope for further
expansion.
